Run by Headway Essex, our carer support groups are quite literally a lifeline for many.

People attend the carer support groups for a variety of reasons, some to chat with others in a similar situation as themselves, and others to gain information and advice.

The groups will often have guest-speakers; either individuals with brain injury or professionals working in the field of acquired brain injury.

All carers are welcome and there are absolutely no expectations on you as an attendee; you can interact as little or as much as you like.

We have four support groups across Essex that meet each month in easily accessible and relaxed community settings. If you would like more information or would like to join one of our sessions, please e-mail ABIsupport@headwayessex.org.uk or call 01206 845945.

We also run separate support group meetings where the person you care for can also attend.

Carers

“Headway Essex has made me whole again really. The carers group has empowered me. They have made me realise I am not the only one going through this.”
