What started as a simple idea turned into something truly powerful.
We’re a small, local charity and like so many others we rely on the kindness and generosity of our supporters to keep doing what we do. We are passionate about supporting people whose lives have been completely turned upside down by a brain injury. Every day, we see that the struggle is real, but we also witness the incredible strength, resilience, and determination shown by those affected and their families. It’s genuinely inspiring, and it is the driving force behind everything we do.
What started as a simple idea to raise some funds together turned into something really special. It became a moment where everyone just… showed up. Trustees, staff, volunteers, service users, old friends, new faces, neighbours—everyone pulled together. There was such a strong sense of teamwork and community, and it honestly meant the world to us.
Many of the challenges became huge achievements, with people overcoming personal barriers and achieving things far beyond what they ever thought possible. Being sponsored by someone who believed in them, and then discovering through the challenge just how much they could achieve, has been incredibly powerful.
It’s taught us so much—about people, about kindness, and about what can happen when a group of people come together with a shared goal and a bit of heart behind it.
