South Essex Brain Injury Hub
We understand the impact a brain injury can have on everyday living.
Located in Benfleet, the South Essex Brain Injury Hub offers practical activity sessions to adults living with an acquired brain injury. The activity sessions are designed to help you to understand your brain injury, become more confident, healthy and independent.
Our team will work with you on your own needs and goals and recommend which activities will be of the most benefit to you.
The sessions run at different times throughout the year on a Tuesday or a Wednesday.
The activity sessions we offer in South Benfleet include:
BRAIN INJURY AND ME
These sessions will give you a better insight into your injury, its effects, and impact on you and your family members. As a result you will learn valuable coping and adjustment skills, enabling you to set realistic goals and gain support and friendship from the group.
COMMUNICATING WITH CONFIDENCE
These sessions will help you discuss and resolve challenges you are facing to communicate more effectively with friends and family and improve your social skills.
FITNESS FOR ALL
Our fitness sessions are for all abilities and can be done seated or standing. The class is led by a trained professional teaching gentle exercise, helping with balance, posture, coordination and muscle strength. Our aim is to help reduce fatigue, aid concentration and improve health and wellbeing.
COOKING WITH CONFIDENCE
Our goal is to help you gain some independence in the kitchen, preparing simple basic meals, for you, family or friends, using healthy ingredients that are beneficial to the brain. These sessions will help you to improve your organisation, concentration and multi-tasking abilities.
Some sessions may take place in the community. The activities will be carefully selected to help build confidence and independence in a safe and supported environment.
