Welcome To The Virtual Vehicle Show!
This year, we are delivering the spirit of our Classic Vehicle Show through a Virtual Vehicle Show. We want to celebrate the day with you by sharing videos from classic car owners and memories of previous shows. Please get involved by visiting Headway Essex’s Facebook page and liking, sharing and commenting on the show throughout the day. So what are you waiting for? Come join in the fun.
Highlight of the Show
Thank you to everyone who submitted a video clip of their ‘pride and joy’. Here are three special ones we wanted to share with you.
David Prior - Jaguar Mark 2
This 1961 Jaguar Mark 2 submitted by David Prior instantly won the Headway Essex fundraising team over with it’s wonderful curves and silver blue paint job. You may recognise David’s Jaguar as he’s taken the car to many local classic vehicle show throughout the years, including Headway Essex Classic Vehicle Show.
This Jaguar has a 2.4 litre engine giving it an impressive 89 brake horsepower. The classic vehicle was restored about 12 years ago by its previous owners and interestingly spent time being used for weddings.
Robert Tracey - Ford Zodiac Mark 3
We loved Doris! This Ford Zodiac Mark 3 sent in by Robert Tracey really caught our attention with its (malibu) gold appearance. Made in 1965, Doris has a 2.6 CC straight-6 engine and is capable of reaching top speeds of almost 100 mph.
Doris has visited many classic car shows throughout the years with Robert and was even used as a wedding car for his daughter’s wedding at Colchester Castle!
Alan Osborn - McLaren 720s Mark 2
Although not a classic car (yet), we couldn’t help but include Alan Osborn’s 2018 McLaren, 720S performance super series, in our list of favourite vehicles. It’s hard not to be impressed by the vehicle’s top speed, slick design and ability to catch people’s eye.
This McLaren has a 4 litre V8 engine and boasts a maximum speed of 212mph. This vehicle is also capable of going from 0 to 60 in only 2.8 seconds!
Show Your Support
The Classic Vehicle Show was one of our most important sources of fundraising income. Without the event, we are set to lose a massive £10,500 worth of vital funding. This could keep services at the Headway Centre running for two weeks.
Please support us by donating whatever you can, so we can support those with Acquired Brain Injury and continue to bring you the Classic Vehicle Show each year.
You can also donate via text by simply texting ‘HEADWAYESSEX‘ followed by the amount you wish to donate to ‘70450‘. E.g. to donate £5, text ‘HEADWAYESSEX 5‘ to ‘70450’.
