Chris James and Steve Wells Golf Day 15 September 2022
Teams of golfers raised vital funds for Headway Essex at Chigwell Golf Club on Thursday 15th September 2022.
Brain injury survivor Chris James along with his good friend Stephen Wells kindly organised their fourth Charity Golf Day at Chigwell Golf Club on Thursday 15th September 2022 in aid of Headway Essex. This year’s event featured teams from businesses across Essex.
Above par fundraising success in aid of Headway Essex
Chris and Stephen worked tirelessly to organise the event. The golfers, in teams of four had great fun playing the immaculate course on a warm sunny day. The event raised an incredible £7,750 for Headway Essex, who supported Chris with his recovery after his brain injury in 2017. The charity is in awe of their fundraising, which now stands at nearly £19,000, which is a truly incredible sum.
Brain Injury survivor Chris James helped organise the event
Chris was assaulted and suffered a brain injury in 2017, leaving him with life-changing effects including memory loss, something Chris combated throughout the planning of these events. Headway Essex helped Chris and his family receive the support and help that they needed during a difficult time.
As an avid supporter of Headway Essex, Chris James said: “My journey is not over it is on-going and I’m still adapting to my new life. I now want to do something to help Headway Essex to support other people with Acquired Brain Injury in the area I live in.”
Joanna Wright, Chief Executive Officer was delighted with the Golf Day
Joanna Wright, Chief Executive Officer says; “We are so thankful to Chris and Stephen for their support. A great deal of work goes into making these events a success for which we are incredibly grateful. Money raised from this event will go towards providing rehabilitation and support for brain injury survivors and their families and carers in Essex.”
Their fourth golf day brings the total raised to £19,000
Chris and Stephen are two superstar fundraisers. Together, they have raised around £19,000 from the four events. We are proud beyond belief to count them as supporters of Headway Essex. We want to thank all those involved in the events, for their amazing contribution.
