2010 is Headway Essex's 25th Anniversary - 25 years of care for people with brain injury and their families.
Headway will be happy to help you with any press releases, but if you want to go your own way here are some things to consider:
Please do not use the Headway Logo unless you have asked our permission.
Always clear any press you are doing with Headway Essex.
When raising funds for Headway Essex you need to state our full name “HEADWAY ESSEX”, and our Registered Charity Number which is 1008807
When describing our work please use the phrase; ‘Headway Essex provides care and support for survivors of brain injury and their families and carers.’
Publicity is key to any successful event. To ensure people come to your event, they have to know that you are organising one! Try and promote your event to as many people as you can.
Contact your local newspapers
Contact your local magazines
Contact your local radio station
Contact Headway Essex to ask about press contacts.
Think about your press release and whether there is an angle that might be of interest to the press. Often it is the more unusual element of the event that gets the most publicity.
Take an imaginative photo to promote your event and send it in with the press release.
If you have any contacts in the media, that is always the best place to start!
